A school’s success is rooted in its faculty and its faculty’s approach to teaching and learning.  Teachers at Wilson Charter School are provided every tool necessary to help their students achieve.  In order for a teacher to find success at our school, he/she must be a highly qualified individual who is passionate about his/her craft.  He/she must be willing to work in a collaborative and collegial setting that will require team work.  He/she must be willing to set high expectations for both oneself and one’s students.  Finally, he/she must act as a role model for students, demonstrating a respect for the school, its core values, its mission, and its students.

 A teacher is considered highly qualified once having met the following requirements:

• Completion of a Bachelor’s Degree
• LA Teacher Certification or Enrollment in a Certification Program (holding a Practitioner’s License)
• Subject-Area proficiency/ Praxis for K-6 (Praxis 0014)
